A case report of dysfunctional uterine bleeding

Abstract
Purpose :Endometrial Curettage(D & C) is a common operation that was treated at a obstetrics and gynecology hospital for the purpose of both diagnosis and treatment of endometrial abnormality of uterine. but it can cause perforation, bleeding, infection and cervical incompetence of uterine. The purpose of this study is to report the effect of oriental treatment substituted for a frequent endometrial curettage in dysfunctional uterine bleeding

Methods :A 36-year-old female who was requested the 3rd curettage for recurred uterine bleeding at a obstetrics and gynecology hospital refused any more curettage and visited Wonkwang university oriental hospital. we treated the patient with a herb-medication, acupunture therapy and moxa therapy. In acupunture therapy ST36(Chok-Samni,ðëß²×ì), SP6(Samumgyo,ß²ëäÎß), CV6(Kihae,Ѩú­) were used. In moxa therapy CV12(Chung-wan, ñéèÒ), CV4(Kwanwon, μêª) were used. In herbal therapy Yikweseungyangtang was used.

Results :After oriental medicine for 18 days, she stopped bleeding at the uterus and had a common menstrual cycle.

Conclusion :Oriental treatment substituted for a endometrial curettage is expected to have an effect in dysfunctional uterine bleeding.
